Kathryn Zamar is an award winning ceramic artist who specializes in the development of unique multi layered glazes.
Kathryn has created a series of limited edition prints of close up detail images of her glazes, which allow the viewer to appreciate the technicality of her colour ranges and the resultant depth, movement and vibrancy attained by her application.
These unique glazes are designed to evoke impressions of the natural world, to explore the relationship between form and colour, to animate and thus bring life and meaning to her work.
Kathryn’s work has been exhibited in London, the South and the West of England, including exhibitions at the Mall Galleries London, for the Society of Women Artists Open Exhibition, the Royal Tunbridge Wells International Art Fair 2016, the London Boat Show 2017, and the London Art Biennale 2017 where she won 2nd prize for sculpture.
‘The swirls of colour form shapes that create these fantastical, amorphous landscapes giving the impression of streams pouring through rocks, waves breaking on seashores or even underground lakes hidden in magical caves.’
